It’ll be interesting trivia one day, “What else might’ve Subrosa been?” I’m pretty sure it was always going to be Subrosa though. We were discussing a few different types of brands though. I’m not sure if there was any other names. It’s well documented throughout time with governments, churches and religious groups all meeting Subrosa.ĭid you guys ever consider any other names? Do you think any of them would have worked as well as Subrosa? A rose hanging upside down in any building, room, bar, church, cave, strip club, basically any where you can meet with another person, meant that what ever was discussed “under the rose” was kept Subrosa, or completely secret. Well, it means a few different things, but we are about the “Under the rose” meaning. Care to fill us in on the meaning and how you and Ronnie decided on it? Subrosa has been around a few years now, and I’m sure there’s a ton of people who have always wondered what the name means and where it came from. So let’s kick this off with Ryan Sher and Subrosa.

If you really think about it, the name can sink or float a brand right off the bat, it can start a war with another brand with a similar name, logo or image and a unique name can be the difference between remembering it further down the road or not.Ī while back, I got an email with an idea from a reader who asked if I could start doing a series to find out about the meaning behind a bunch of different brands. The whole image of the brand is based around that name and its meaning. It’s almost weird to think about how much goes into just the name of a brand.
